Today Darren Boucher, Operations Manager for North American Van Lines posted some important winter driving tips to all North American Drivers. Safety is an important concern for us as we are operating large trucks on the road. Following these important safety reminders will reduce accidents in the wintertime for both commercial drivers as well as everyone on the road:
- Maintain your vehicle: inspection of tire treads and proper inflation is critical for traction and steering control in bad weather;
- Beware of icy conditions as driving “too fast for the conditions” is a common cause of accidents;
- Use headlights at all times to increase visibility; and
- Increase your distance.
